Germolene Antiseptic Cream 55g

Germolene Antiseptic Cream. The cream is used to ease the pain, and help prevent infections of minor cuts, grazes, burns and scalds, blisters, stings and insect bites, spots and chapped or rough skin.

Before initial use check that the tube seal is intact, then remove by peeling from the tag.
Directions for use: Thoroughly clean the affected area of skin, apply the cream and rub in gently. In the case of cuts or particularly tender areas apply on a piece of white lint or gauze. Do not use with soap.
If you do not get better, go and see your doctor.

Cream contains Phenol 1.2% w/w, Chlorhexidine Digluconate 0.25% w/w. It also contains: cetostearyl alcohol, light liquid paraffin, polyoxyethylene stearyl ethers, colours (ponceau 4R (E124), sunset yellow (E110)), dimeticone, methyl salicylate and water.

Phenol and chlorhexidine have antiseptic properties for the disinfection of skin, wounds and burns. Phenol also has a local anaesthetic action to relieve pain. The cream base has emollient properties to help soften the skin and soothe irritation.

Most people using the cream find it causes them no problems. However, rarely irritancy, rashes or other skin reactions may occur at the site of application (e.g contact dermatitis). If you are concerned about this, or if the cream affects you in any other way, stop using it and talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Do not use Germolene Antiseptic Cream:
If you are allergic to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients listed above.
This cream contains cetosteryl alcohol which may cause local skin reactions (eg. Contact dermatitis).

If you are pregnant or breast feeding:
You may use the cream if you are pregnant or breast feeding but as with all medicines at this time, you should discuss it with your doctor first.

If some cream is accidentally swallowed, tell your doctor at once.

Do not use the cream after the ‘use by end of' date shown on the pack.
Do not store above 25°C.
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
