Benadryl One a Day Relief Tablets 7

Benadryl Once daily allergy relief. For adults and children over 12 years. Hay fever, dust allergy, pet allergy, skin allergies.

Adults and Children aged 12 years and over: 10 mg once daily

The dose needs to be reduced in elderly patients.

In patients with renal insufficiency the dosage should be reduced to half the usual recommended daily dose.

Cetirizine hydrochloride: 10 mg per tablet. Cetirizine dihydrochloride Ph.Eur is also known as cetirizine hydrochloride as per the INNM/BANM.
Cetirizine is a potent antihistamine with a low potential for drowsiness at normal therapeutic doses which has additional anti-allergic properties. It is a selective H1 antagonist with negligible effects on other receptors and so is virtually free from anti-cholinergic and anti-serotonin effects. Cetirizine inhibits the histamine-mediated early phase of the allergic reaction and also reduces the migration of certain inflammatory cells and the release of certain mediators associated with the late allergic response.
Tablet core: Microcrystalline cellulose, Lactose, Colloidal anhydrous silica, Magnesium stearate. Film coating: Opadry Y-1-7000, - Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (E464), - Titanium dioxide (E171), - Polyethlene glycol.

Antihistamines can cause drowsiness in some patients. Although this has not been reported with cetirizine at the recommended dose, please be cautious whilst driving or operating machinery.

In objective tests of psychomotor function the incidence of sedation with cetirizine was similar to that of placebo. There have been occasional reports of mild and transient side effects such as headache, dizziness, drowsiness, agitation, dry mouth, and gastrointestinal discomfort. If affected the dose may be taken as 5 mg in the morning and 5 mg in the evening.

Convulsions have very rarely been reported.

A history of hypersensitivity to any of the constituents of the formulation.

Do not exceed the stated dose. If symptoms persist consult your doctor.
As with other drugs, the use of cetirizine in pregnancy should be avoided.

Cetirizine is contraindicated in lactating women since it is excreted in breast milk.
